• The Environmental Depot is open only to Chittenden County residents and businesses by appointment only.
• Chittenden County Businesses that are Conditionally Exempt Generators (CEGS) may use the Depot for a fee.

Hazardous waste includes any unused product that is poisonous, reactive, corrosive, or flammable. You can easily identify hazardous products by reading packaging labels: look for key words such as Warning! Danger! Poison! Caution! Improper disposal of these products poses a risk to human health and the environment.

Of course, the best way to avoid having to properly dispose of hazardous waste is to avoid hazardous products to begin with.
