Disposal options
- Used or unused epipens from a household can be disposed of in household trash. Be sure the safety cap is on and secure/tape the safety cap on the EpiPen before disposing.
- Businesses (including institutions and non-profits) that generate less than 50 pounds of needles, syringes and lancets per month, may also dispose of capped EpiPens in the trash. If you generate more than 50 pounds per month, they must be managed as regulated medical waste.
