Cost

At CSWD Drop-Off Centers:
Not accepted at Burlington

Pallets:

  • Up to 4 standard size (48″ x 40″) pallets: No charge
  • Per standard pallet (48″x 40″) over 4 pallets: $1.00 each
  • Large truck loads: $50.00/ton (at the Williston Drop-Off Center only)

Lumber or broken pallets:

At partner facilities:

  • ReSource Building Materials Reuse Center: No charge
  • McNeil Wood & Yard Waste Depot: No charge
  • Myers Recycling Center: call for information
  • Casella C&D Recyling Facility: call for information

Limitations, regulations and other specifications

Wood Specifications at CSWD Drop-Off Centers:

  • maximum length: 8 ft
  • no spikes, hinges, strap steel or metal appendages (nails and screws up to 1/4 inches in diameter OK)
  • no pressure-treated wood or plywood
  • Customers with loads larger than three cubic yards, or those with dumping mechanisms, must use the Williston Drop-Off Center, Myers Recycling Center, or the McNeil Wood & Yard Debris Depot

Note about wood from Ash tree species: The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive insect from Asia that kills any tree it infests, has been found in Ash trees in Vermont. For more information on how to identify Ash trees and EAB, and how to slow the insect’s spread, visit VTinvasives.org.

General specifications

  • Stumps and wood chips must be free of dirt and stones
  • Nails and screws up to 1/4 inches in diameter: OK

  • maximum length: 6 ft
  • maximum diameter: 24 inches

Dumping mechanisms

  • Customers with dumping mechanisms must use the Williston Drop-Off Center or the McNeil Wood & Yard Debris Depot
