Hinesburg Drop-Off Center closed

The Chittenden Solid Waste District (CSWD) has decided to close the Hinesburg Drop-Off Center at 907 Beecher Hill Rd. until construction of the Town of Hinesburg’s new highway garage is complete.

The CSWD Hinesburg Drop-Off Center is closed during construction of Town Garage.

“We value the strong partnership we have with the Town of Hinesburg, and after thoughtful discussions with local leadership, we decided to close the Drop-Off Center in order to support their construction efforts,” says Sarah Reeves, General Manager of CSWD. “We understand the value of a smooth construction process, and the best way for us to help that process is to give the contractors plenty of room to maneuver.”

The Hinesburg Drop-Off Center has shared a location with the town’s highway garage since 1993.

While the Hinesburg Drop-Off Center is closed, CSWD encourages customers to use the Williston Drop-Off Center at 1492 Redmond Rd. The Williston Drop-Off Center is open six days per week, Monday – Saturday from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

As the most spacious of CSWD’s Drop-Off Centers, the Williston location accepts the widest variety of materials of any CSWD Drop-Off Center. CSWD recently added compactors for trash & recycling, and a new layout that will improve accessibility and accommodate more visitors.

“We are making improvements at the Williston Drop-Off Center that will substantially enhance the customer experience, including a new traffic pattern, better parking, and compactors for trash and recycling that are easier to access,” says District Engineer Brian Wright.
