RunVermont is looking for a group or individual to lead their Green Team and provide hands-on support and educate volunteers, runners and spectators regarding proper waste management at RunVermont’s four events:
- Island Vines 10K (September 24)
- FirstRun 5K (January 1)
- Half Marathon Unplugged (April 14)
- the Vermont City Marathon (May 27)
RunVermont will provide a donation to the group or individual for their efforts. Their goal is to be exceptional at managing waste at events by consistently implementing best practices.
Responsibilities include providing guidance to RunVermont staff prior to event, helping to identify and recruit volunteers/interns and providing on-site support and education at their events.
For the Vermont City Marathon (May 27), the group or individual would be part of the Marathon Command team and is expected to attend two Team meetings (late March and early May), help lead a Green Team information session for volunteers prior to Expo (and race weekend), help to identify and recruit volunteers to cover Battery, Oakledge, and Waterfront Parks on race day. The group or individual should be passionate about managing waste and educating others at medium to large-size events. Willingness to roll up sleeves as needed.
