Search our<a href=\"\/recycling\/a-z\/\">&nbsp;A \u2013 Z list<\/a>&nbsp;for information on specific items not listed on that page. Please see our&nbsp;<a href=\"\/hazardous-waste\/electronics\/\">electronics page<\/a>&nbsp;for fees and free electronics recycling options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hardened hazardous waste is still considered dangerous\u2013bring it to the Depot. Don\u2019t put it in the trash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We Do Not Accept<strong> <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Depot does not accept mandatory&nbsp;<a title=\"Chittenden County Mandatory Recyclables\" href=\"\/a-to-z\/mandatory-recyclables\/\">recyclables<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"\/trash\/\">trash<\/a>, and some other hazardous materials. Please consult the&nbsp;<a href=\"\/recycling\/a-z\/\">A \u2013 Z list<\/a>&nbsp;for proper disposal of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/a-to-z\/appliances\/\">appliances<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/a-to-z\/asbestos\/\">asbestos<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/a-to-z\/explosives-fireworks\/\">explosives<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/a-to-z\/medical-waste\/\">medical\/infectious waste<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fees <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Chittenden County<strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Residents<\/strong>: No charge for household quantities of accepted common hazardous waste items.&nbsp; Fees may apply to specialty items and large quantities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Businesses<\/strong>: Fees may apply, depending on the type of material. <a href=\"\/hazardous-waste\/c-e-g\/\">View Business Price List here<\/a>.<br><strong><em>NOTE: <\/em><\/strong>Businesses must qualify as a <a href=\"\/hazardous-waste\/c-e-g\">Conditionally Exempt Generator <\/a>(CEG) to use the Depot. Please call us to make an appointment. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment: <\/strong>Credit cards, Cash or checks only. \n<ul>\n<li>Checks must have a current name, address and phone number. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Credit\/Debit Cards Accepted \u2013 American Express, Discover, MasterCard &amp; Visa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>3% convenience fee for all credit card transactions to cover our costs.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Out-of-District:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Non-District Residents<\/strong>: May be charged a fee. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Non-District Businesses<\/strong> <strong>may not use the Environmental Depot,<\/strong>&nbsp;except for architectural paint, electronics covered in the E-cycles program, or mercury-containing bulbs. Local Color comes in a variety of shades to choose from.
