Director of Finance
The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a strong financial director to oversee the finance team of a countywide municipal organization with an annual budget of $11 million.
About Us: The CSWD team is a passionate group of people who love helping our community reduce, reuse and recycle our County’s valuable resources. Our people are friendly, committed and supportive. The average tenure at CSWD is lengthy so positions with us are rare.

You are detail oriented and excel at maintaining financial records, preparing and presenting an annual budget, managing computerized accounting systems, and have both an expert level of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to manage, support and oversee all financial functions of CSWD. You value financial reporting and helping staff navigate the mysteries of financial management equally. You love working with a tight knit team that are highly intelligent and eager to learn from your leadership.
The Basics: Bachelor’s degree with ten years of experience, including three years of supervisory experience. CPA preferred. Applicants with a working knowledge of governmental accounting, Microsoft Office and QuickBooks will be strongly considered.
The Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience and includes an excellent benefit package (a commitment to work/life balance, comprehensive insurance plan, generous time off) and the opportunity to work with a dynamic, passionate, and mission driven team.
