Event Waste Reduction Intern
The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a part-time, paid Event Waste Reduction Intern to support our on-site Waste Warrior volunteers and document effective waste management strategies at events throughout Chittenden County. Must be: passionate about waste reduction and diversion; organized, dependable, and personable; able to work a highly variable schedule that will routinely include late nights and weekends. Must have reliable, independent transportation to transport self and equipment to event locations throughout the county.
The position requires light to moderate physical effort and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. $15.00 per hour starting 7/1/19.

Latex Paint Recycler
The Environmental Depot Program – Latex Paint Facility, is looking for an energetic, dependable person for part-time work helping making our high quality Local Color paint. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing paint and related activities.
This is physically demanding and highly rewarding position. Hours are 7:30-3:30 with a flexible schedule of working any two days per week between Tuesday through Friday. Additional work potentially available on Saturdays. Must be able lift 60 pounds. Forklift experience a plus. $16/hour.

Drop-Off Center Operator
The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a highly motivated individual to work at the busy Essex Drop-Off Center on Saturdays, 7:45am-3:45pm. Must enjoy interacting with the public, have the ability to operate a cash register (training provided), and be able to keep cool under pressure.
Moderate to strenuous physical effort is required as is the ability to work outdoors year-round. Customer service experience a plus. Self-starters and those with a passion for reducing waste, recycling, and composting, are strongly encouraged to apply. $16.57 per hour starting 7/1/19.

Director of Operations
The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a full-time Director of Operations to oversee all aspects of CSWD facilities. This new position will be responsible for immediate oversight of CSWD’s Drop-Off Centers, the Organics Diversion Facility, and the Engineering and Maintenance Departments.

Applicants should have: Master’s degree in management with a professional engineering license preferred and 7 to 10 years’ experience in solid waste management. This individual demonstrates a practical knowledge of data analytics and budgeting, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
