Full-Time Mechanic & Heavy Equipment Operator

CSWD is seeking a mechanically trained, hands-on individual to join our compost operation as a Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Operator. In this dual role, you will spend a portion of your time diagnosing equipment problems, performing preventive maintenance, and completing repairs to keep our fleet operating safely and reliably. The remainder of your time will be spent operating heavy equipment in support of daily facility operations.

Preferred Education and Experience: Mechanical training through a technical program, certificate program, apprenticeship, military service, or comparable education. Previous professional mechanic experience is preferred but is not required. We are open to candidates who have recently completed their training and are ready to apply and expand their skills in a working equipment-maintenance environment.

Experience operating loaders, excavators, skid steers, agricultural equipment, or other heavy equipment is strongly preferred. Candidates should also be self-motivated, safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in an active industrial environment.

CSWD will provide training on our specific equipment, facility procedures, and composting operations; however, applicants should arrive with a working foundation in mechanical systems and repair.

Pay is $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience, training, and certifications, with excellent benefits and a generous paid-time-off package.
