Help Wanted: Route Driver / Laborer — $23–$25/hr + Benefits

Chittenden Solid Waste District is hiring a Route Driver / Laborer to help maintain District facilities and transport food scraps and special materials across Chittenden County. This is an active, hands-on job with variety—no two days are the same.
What You’ll Do
• Drive weekly food scraps and special waste routes
• Operate and help maintain trucks, roll-off containers, and equipment
• Support upkeep of District buildings and grounds (mowing, plowing, painting, basic repairs)
• Keep basic logs and follow safety and environmental guidelines
What We’re Looking For
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical work
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently
• Driving or maintenance experience is a plus (training provided)
Pay & Benefits
• $23–$25 per hour, based on experience
