CSWD Announces Expansion of Services and Hours at Drop-Off Center in Burlington  

The Chittenden Solid Waste District (CSWD) is pleased to announce significant enhancements to its operations at the Drop-Off Center (DOC) in Burlington, located at 339 Pine Street. 

Expanded Material Acceptance 

In addition to food scraps and blue-bin recycling (paper, cardboard, boxboard, metal cans and foil, glass jars and bottles, rigid plastic containers, and rigid plastic packaging), CSWD will now also accept household trash (no bulky items), scrap metal, shredded paper, and wood ash at the Pine Street facility. This expansion is part of CSWD’s commitment to increasing sustainability and convenience for residents of Burlington. 

Extended Operating Hours 

CSWD will also transition to a new, five-day weekly schedule. Beginning in July, the DOC in Burlington will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. This change represents a significant increase in accessibility, providing residents with more flexibility to drop off materials at their convenience.
