How to get a recycling bin
CSWD provides each household with up to three blue recycling bins at no charge. The bin is a 16-gallon rectangular box made from recycled HDPE (#2 plastic). It measures 16″ high x 16″ wide x 19″ deep.

- All CSWD Drop-Off Centers
- Some CSWD member town offices or their public works department

Some private haulers provide their customers with recycling carts (large wheeled containers with lids) and some may deliver the 16-gallon bins to their residential customers. Contact your hauler for cart availability and bin delivery options.
Recycling carts available for Burlington residents
These durable, covered two-wheeled units are offered for sale at the Burlington Department of Public Works. An application with pricing and sizes available is on the DPW web site. Free delivery can be arranged. Please contact the Burlington DPW for more information at (802) 863-9094 ext.3.
CSWD will provide up to fifty 4-gallon deskside bins to Chittenden County businesses. This bin measures 13″ high x 8″ wide by 13″ deep. We can also mix in some of the 16-gallon residential-style bins for areas such as break rooms or other areas with more use. Please use our contact form to arrange for your bin pickup or delivery.
